Hello, all! And welcome to my newest followers. Glad to have you here!
Before I start with the Sunday Social link-up (my first one, eva!), I thought I'd remind everyone that I've currently got a giveaway going in honor of Julia Child's 100th birthday. So head on over
to the post and enter. You've got lots of opportunities to earn extra entries. Good luck!
If you could eat only one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Oh I'm a foodie, so that's a tough one. I think I'd choose my mom's tater tot casserole. So yummy and filling!
What's your guilty pleasure/comfort food?
Probably a good ol' cheeseburger. No pickles, of course.
What's the weirdest/craziest thing you've ever eaten?
I once ate an alligator burger, or so the restaurant claimed. I also got into weird food combinations around the 5th grade and started eating hot dogs with peanut butter (gross!!!) and plain cheese pizza with ketchup on it.
What foods do you avoid at all costs?
Menudo. Fish sandwiches. Really weird stuff like scorpions and eyeballs.
What meal reminds you of your childhood?
Kraft mac n' cheese, the goo-ier the better, with a Minnie Mouse burger. My dad would make ground hamburger into the shape of Mickey Mouse, then let me draw on a bow and smiley face with ketchup to make it Minnie Mouse. We'd put it on plain white bread with mayo and sweet relish, then gobble it up.
Share one of your favorite recipes and the story behind it.
My mom's tater tot casserole, which you can find the recipe for here. It was a staple in our house, especially when money was tight. It became such a comfort food and never disappointed. I've made it myself a few times and it always brings back good memories. Since it's so filling, you've got a lot of time to reminisce while you're digesting. :)
Your tater tot casserole looks yummy!
