Sunday Social: All About the Internet

I'm so excited, everyone! Today I had my very first guest post opportunity over at She Learns As She Goes (click that link to read my post on how to do date night when you have a baby/kids of any age). Check out Kelli's great blog and let me know what you thought of my post. Danke! :)

In other news, I'm really enjoying the Sunday Social link-up! It's so much fun to see the answers people come up with for the questions. Plus, if I'm being totally honest, I like having the questions to answer instead of generating my own idea for a posting topic. So this week's questions are all about the internet. Answer the questions yourself and link up to the social - would love to know your thoughts!

What is the first website you log onto each day?
Facebook. It's an addiction. If I'm too tired to do that then it's usually Baby Connect, which is how I keep track of Isaiah's stats for eating, diapers, activity, meds, etc.

Give us some funny websites you go to that we need to know about.
www.xkcd.com - click here for my favorite of all the comics

Pinterest or Facebook? Why?
Facebook. While I like Pinterest and think it has it's purpose, if choosing between the two then I'll go with the one that allows me to see what's going on in the lives of my friends and family instead of the one that sucks my soul through the screen as I spend hours alienating my other responsibilities just to look at pictures of crafts and DIY projects I'll never do.

Twitter or Instagram? Why?
Instagram. I love the filters and seeing what my friends are up to through pictures - they're worth a thousand words, you know. :)

Favorite YouTube video - post it!
So a warning for you all that this video has some pretty foul language. This guy drops the f-bomb like nobody's business, but... the story he tells is so damn funny, I can't help but laugh 'til I hurt.

Biggest online pet peeve?
When people "share" or "like" images people post that attack Christians and/or Christianity. It doesn't bother me that people have their opinions. My pet peeve stems from the fact that the majority of the people sharing and liking these images spend about 5 seconds reading the text, share/like it because it's radically modern, and don't spend the time to actually see if what it says is true or not. Have you ever actually read the Bible, or at least the parts the message is referring to? Do you understand the difference between the Old and New Testament? Do you realize that the Levitical Laws you use as a way to make Christianity seem stupid and outdated are, indeed, outdated because Christ became the ultimate sacrifice and many of the laws or no longer necessary?
No, probably not. I mean, how could you with all those intelligent memes to like and spread? Bleh.

  1. Isn't Baby Connect an awesome app? We used that until our son was one and it was so convenient and easy to use!

  3. Totally agree with you on the pet peeve - I have learned to just ignore it because people are so much more confrontational on facebook, saying things that I don't think they would have the guts to say in a face to face conversation. "sharing" or "liking" things like that just create on-line drama (another pet peeve of mine). Happy Sunday!

  5. I like you and I like your blog. I have never heard of Baby Connect I tried to look it up {thanks google} but didnt have a lot of luck. I am gonna keep looking around though. Your pet peeve is a really good one. When I was on facebook I never liked when anyone bashed what ever they didn't believe in {from politics to religion to parenting}. I believe in promoting what you love but I think it is just stupid to try to make yourself feel better about what you believe by making fun of what you don't believe.

Off to read your guest post on She Learns as She Goes! Have a great week!
